“At the end of four hundred and thirty years all the host of the Lord left the land of Egypt on this vary date. This was a night of vigil for the Lord, as he led them out of the land of Egypt; so on this same night all the children of Israel must keep a vigil for the Lord throughout their generations.” Exodus 12:41-42. St. Justin Popovich said, “In truth, there is only one freedom, the holy freedom of Christ, whereby he freed us from sin…it binds us to God. All other freedoms are illusory, false. That is to say, they are all in fact slavery.”
Let us pray, My God, as You led the people of Israel to freedom from slavery in Egypt, so too You lead us out of slavery to sin and selfish ways. May we rejoice in this freedom and not turn back. May we keep vigil in evening prayer, and remember we are made new in You, we are a holy people, we are not turning back. We are Yours. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
