Word for Saturday March 8. St. John of God.

“If you hold back your foot on the Sabbath from following your own pursuits on my holy day; if you call the Sabbath a delight, and the Lord’s day honorable; if you honor it by not following your ways, seeking your own interests, or speaking with malice – then you shall delight in the Lord, and I will make you ride on the heights
of the earth.” Isaiah 58:13-14. St. Pope John Paul II said, “In order that rest may not degenerate into emptiness or boredom, it must offer spiritual enrichment, greater freedom, opportunities for contemplation and fraternal communion. Therefore, among the forms of culture and entertainment which society offers, the faithful should choose those which are most in keeping with a life lived in obedience to the precepts of the Gospel.”

Let us pray, Lord Jesus, we want to delight in You, to ride on the heights of the earth. Revive our spirits, let us know again the joy of honoring You. Help us set aside our wants and ways that keep us from You on the Lord’s Day. Lead us Lord, we give You our hearts this day. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
