“At that time: John saw Jesuds coming towards him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! This is he of whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who ranks befor me, for he was before me.’ I myself did not know him; but for this I came baptizing with water, that he might be revealed to Israel . . . I saw the Spirit descend as a dove from heaven and remain on him . . . And I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.” John 1-29-34. St. Basil the Great said, “Through the Holy Spirit comes our restoration to paradise, our ascent into the Kingdom of heaven, and our return to the adoption of sons.”
Let us pray, Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, You upon whom the Spirit descended and remained, let that same Holy Spirit descend upon us and abide with us always. Renew, transform, and empower our lives, that our world, our Church, our families, and our hearts may be made new, filled with a deeper love, a living faith, and the gentle yet powerful touch of Your grace.
