Word for Sunday January 26. Sunday of the Word of God. Sts. Timothy and Titus, Bishops.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” Luke 4:18-19. St. Justin Maria Russolillo said, “Grant that I may be an act of love, a gift of love, a service of love, a conversation of love, a communion of love.”

Let us pray, Lord Jesus, the Spirit empowered You to proclaim the Word of God to those who needed it. It is the “other” that You went out for: the poor, captives, blind, and oppressed. Each category of people needs to hear that special word, a word which is good news to them. Empower Your Church to always be faithful
in announcing this good news to everyone who needs it. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Blessings. Larry.
