Word for Sunday January 5. The Epiphany of the Lord. St. Lawrence.

And behold, the star that they had seen at its rising preceded them, until it came and stopped over the place where the child was. They were overjoyed at seeing the star, and upon entering the house they saw the child with Mary, his mother. They prostrated themselves and did him homage.” Matther 2:9-11. St. Peter Chrysologus said, “Today the Magi gaze in deep wonder at what they see: heaven on earth, earth in heaven, man in God, God in man, one whom the whole universe cannot contain now enclosed in a tiny body.Let us pray, Lord God, the three Kings came from distant lands, bringing gifts, and humbling themselves before Jesus, yet fear and jealousy prevented the religious leaders from seeking Him out. May we today make every effort to seek out Jesus. May we not be lazy, too busy, or afraid. We ask for the grace of humbling ourselves before our God and King, the infant Jesus. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
