“From that time on, Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer greatly . . . and be killed and on the third day be raised. Then Peter took Jesus aside and began to rebuke him, “God forbid, Lord! No such thing shall ever happen to you.” He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are an obstacle to me. You are thinking not as God does, but as human being do.” Matthew 16:21-23. St. Therese of Lisieux said, “My whole strength lies in prayer and sacrifice, these are my invincible arms; they can move hearts far better than words, I know it by
experience.”
Let us pray, Lord Jesus many of Your followers have embraced Your way like Pope St. Sixtus and his companions accepted suffering and death to witness to Your life. Lord we fear death and anything painful that touches our life. But suffering or even death to witness to You is
grace. As You did and many martyrs have done may we accept to sacrifice ourselves for the sake of Your love and mission. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
