Word for Thursday August 8.

“He said to them ‘Who do you say that I am?’ Simon Peter said in reply ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.’ Jesus said in reply ‘Blessed are you Simon son of Jona, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you but my Heavenly Father. And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of the netherworld will not prevail against it.” Matthew 16:15-18. St. John Eudes said, “He belongs to you, but more than that, He longs to be in you, living and ruling in you, as the head lives and rules in the body. He wants His breath to be in your breath, His heart in your heart, and His soul in your soul.”

Let us pray, My God, you established Your Church, and we have let it crumble in part, not in its’ life’s-blood, which is Christ’s Body, and not in its power, which is the Holy Spirit. But we have many who are wounded and have lost their way. By Your grace, may we become the very holiness we wish to see in others, that we may help lead people back to You. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
