Word for Thursday February 22, Feast of the Chair of St. Peter, the Apostle.

“Jesus said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am?’ Simon Peter said in reply ‘You are the Christ, Son of the living God’. Jesus said to him in reply, ‘Blessed are you Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you but my heavenly Father. And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church.” Matthew 17:15-18. Pope St. John XXIII said, “It often happens that I wake up at night and begin to think about a serious problem and decide I must tell the Pope about it. Then I wake up completely and remember that I am the Pope.”

Let us pray, Lord Jesus, we thank You for our home, our mother the Church. May Your Holy Spirit lead us, from greatest to least, in building up Your Body, for we are members of one another in Christ. We ask this through the intercession of St. Peter, our first Pope. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
