“And the women sang to one another as they made merry, “Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.” And Saul was very angry, and this saying displeased him; he said, “They have ascribed to David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed thousands; and what more can he have but the kingdom?” And Saul eyed David from that day on. And Saul spoke to Jonathan his son and to all his servants, that they should kill David.” 1 Samuel 18:6-9. St. Augustine said, “Envy is the waste of the heart. It grieves over what God has given to others instead of rejoicing in His gifts.”
Let us pray, Loving Father, Jealousy is a destructive vice that blinds the heart and steals peace. The women spoke truth in their song, and what Saul feared came to pass, because what You have ordained cannot be undone. What You purpose, You fulfill. Father, bring Your plans to completion in us and through us. Remove fear, envy, and resistance from our hearts, and teach us to trust Your timing and Your will. Exalt us according to Your divine purpose, not for our glory, but for Yours alone. We surrender ourselves to Your perfect design.Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
