“But I say to you, whoever is angry with his brother will be liable to judgement…Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there recall that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there at the altar, go first and be reconciled with your brother, and then come and offer your gift.” Matthew 5:22-24. Pope Francis said, “An evangelising community knows that the Lord has taken the initiative, he has loved us first . . . and therefore we can move forward, boldly take the initiative, go out to others, seek those who have fallen away, stand at the crossroads and welcome the outcast . . . Let us try a little harder to take the first step and to become involved.”

Let us pray, My God, when we are in prayer, and we offer ourselves on the altar of our hearts, help us to reconcile with one another if we cannot make our offering with joy, in freedom.
