Word for Thursday October 9. St. John Henry Newman.

“And I tell you ask, and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; and the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. What father among you would hand his son a snake when he asks for a fish…how much more will the Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?” Luke 11:9-11, 13. St. Padre Pio said, “Prayer is the best weapon we have; it is the ley to God’s heart. You must speak to Jesus, not only with your lips, but with your heart. In fact, sometimes you should only speak to Him with
your heart.”

Let us pray, Lord Jesus sometimes we fail to receive because we fail to ask. By your grace, let us decide we want you, we want holiness, we want to forgive, we want to serve. And then, by you in us, may we ask for the Holy Spirit to fill us and be our guide. We ask now,
everything of the Father, and we thank you and we praise you. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
