“If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do
good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same . . . But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for he is kind to the ungrateful and the selfish. Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.” Luke 6:32-33, 35. St. Mother Teresa said, “Do not think that love, in order to be genuine, has to be extraordinary. What we need is to love without getting tired…do not wait for leaders, do it alone, person to person.”
Let us pray, Lord Jesus it is easier to move with those who like us; those we like and those who please us. But Your teaching challenges us to embrace the less agreeable and even the less loving. We need Your grace to be able to go along this path of embracing the ungrateful and the selfish and even expecting no reward. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
