Word for Thursday September 5. St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta.

“While the crowd was pressing in on Jesus, and listening to the word of God, he was standing by the Lake of
Gennesaret. He saw two boats there alongside the lake…Getting into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon…He sat down and taught the crowds from the boat.” Luke 5:1-3. Pope Francis said, “Are we capable of bringing the word of God into the environment in which we live? Do we know how to speak of Christ, of what he represents for us, in our families, among the people who form part of our daily lives? Faith is born from listening and is strengthened by proclamation.”

Let us pray, My God, may we listen to Your word with all eagerness, like Your followers 2000 years ago. They were hearing something so unlike any other word. Today the word of God is as alive as ever, powerful to the pulling down of strongholds. May we seek this real food for our souls and believe. Amen. “Let your light shine!! Be blessed. Larry.
