When Jesus saw the vast crowd, his heart was moved with pity for them, for they were like sheep without a shepherd; and he began to teach them many things…His disciples approached him and said ‘This is a deserted place and it is very late. Dismiss them so they can go…buy themselves something to eat.’ He said to them ‘Give them some food yourselves.” Mark 6:34-37. Pope Francis said, “As well as physical hunger, man also suffers from another form of hunger that cannot be sated with ordinary food. It is a hunger for life, a hunger for love, a hunger for eternity. Manna is the sign … that prefigured the food that satisfies this profound hunger present in man.” Let us pray, My Jesus, we are that crowd today, lost apart from You, and looking to be filled in other ways. Bring us back Good Shepherd, seek us out in our misery, and give us the Bread that is eternal life. May we find our joy again, such as the world cannot give, Your gift to us. Lord Jesus, help us become light for the world. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry
