Word for Tuesday June 3. The Solemnity of St. Charles Lwanga and Companions.

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven.” Matthew 5:10-11. St. Gemma Galgani said, “If you really want to love Jesus, first learn to suffer, because suffering teaches you to love.”

Let us pray, Lord Jesus, today we honor St. Charles Lwanga and his companions, our ancestors in the faith, who witnessed to loving You with the shedding of their blood declaring to all that You are the only One to be loved and honored above everything. Lord, they set us a very good example of total love for God. Lord, give us the grace to emulate them; loving You above all. Holy Martyrs of Uganda; pray for us! Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be
blessed. Larry.
