“If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.” And he took a child . . . said to them, “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me; and whoever receives me, receives not me but him who sent me.” Mark 9:35-37. St. John Vianney said, “Remain humble, remain simple. The more you are so, the more good you will
do.”
Let us pray, Lord Jesus, we get the temptations to seek to be eminent, to always be the first, to ever be leader over others. Sometimes we are arrogant and overbearing over those we are meant to serve. Lord, bless us with the grace to remain simple, humble and welcoming regardless of the exalted positions we may occupy. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
