Word for Tuesday November 5th Sts. Elizabeth and Zechariah.

“A man once gave a great banquet, and invited many; and at the time for the banquet he sent his servant to say to those who had been invited, ‘Come; for all is now ready.’ But they all alike began to make excuses. The
first said to him, ‘I have bought a field, and I must go out and see it; please, have me excused.’ “And another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to examine them; please, have me excused.’ “And another said, ‘I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.” Luke 14:16- 20. St. Mother Teresa said, “A life not lived for others is not a life.”

Let us pray, Lord Jesus, You extend to us invitations: for service, for engagement in Your Church, for attention to others and to uplifting programs for Your people. But, unfortunately, we turn down Your invitation to be
present as You expect. Anoint us afresh with Your Spirit; remove from us the spirit of excuses and give us a spirit of obedience and willingness to do Your will. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
