Word for Tuesday September 14. The Exaltation of the Cross. “And the Lord said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set up as a sign, and everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.” Numbers 21:8. St. Rose of Lima said, “Apart from the cross there is no other ladder by which we may get to heaven.” Let us pray, Lord Jesus Christ, so many serpents sting us today. May we, as we look up to Your Cross, be healed from all that poisons us in our bodies, souls and in our entire environment. Amen.
