“Jesus journeyed to a city called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd accompanied him. As he drew near to the gate of the city, a man who had died was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow…When the Lord saw her he was moved with pity for her and said to her ‘Do not weep . . .’ He said ‘Young man, I tell you arise.’…And Jesus gave him to his mother.” Luke 7:11-15. St. Cyprian of Carthage said, It is not the suffering that makes the martyr, but the cause. He who fights for the truth, even to the shedding of his blood, is the true
martyr.
Let us pray, Lord Jesus, in your mercy you see all of our sorrows, and your heart is moved with compassion. We are not always delivered from suffering, and sometimes like your own Mother, we must go through it, trusting in you. We believe Lord Jesus, that you are always with us, our hearts are one with yours, you are closer than our breath. We will always love you, our life. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
