“God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him . . . There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and he who fears is not perfected in love.” 1 John 4:16-18. Pope St. John Paul II said, “I plead with you – never ever give up on hope. Never doubt, never tire, and never become discouraged.  Be not afraid.” Let us pray, Lord Jesus, Your New commandment is love. But You know it, Lord, that even in our journeys of love there are fears and moments we are overwhelmed. May we never leave Your presence; may we hear those consoling words,

“Take heart, it is I; have no fear.” Amen.
