Word for Wednesday July 23. St. Bridget.

“Here in the desert the whole assembly of the children of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron. The children of Israel said to them, “Would that we had died at the Lord’s hand in the land of Egypt, as we sat by our fleshpots and ate our fill of bread! But you had to lead us into this desert to make the whole community die of famine!” Exodus 16:2-3. Blessed Fulton Sheen said, “Patience is power. Patience is not an absence of action; rather it is timing, it waits on the right time to act, for the right principles and in the right way.”

Let us pray, Lord Jesus, forgive us when we mix our values as the children of Israel: freedom and salvation from slavery is being compared fleshpots and bread! Forgive us for being shortsighted at times. Give us Your grace to be patient; awaiting the best good in every tough situation we may be going through. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
