“Now Sarah watched the son that Hagar the Egyptian had borne
to Abraham, playing with her son Isaac. ‘Drive away that slave-girl and her son’ . . . This greatly
distressed Abraham . . . but God said to him, ‘Do nor distress yourself . . . the slave-girl’s son I
shall also make into a great nation, for he too is your child.” Genesis 21:9-10, 12-13. St. John of
the Cross said, “In the twilight of life, God will not judge us on our earthly possessions and
human successes, but on how well we have loved.” Let us pray, Loving Father, Your loving
justice is beyond telling! Share with us this loving justice that we may make a difference in our
society, the communities and families we live in. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed.
