Word for Wednesday March 4. St. Casmir.

“They said, “Come, let us make plots against Jeremiah, for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word
from the prophet. Come, let us strike him with the tongue, and let us not heed any of his words.” Give heed to me, O Lord, and listen to my plea. Is evil a recompense for good? Yet they have dug a pit for my life. Remember how I stood before you to speak good for them, to turn away your wrath from them.” Jeremiah 18:18-20. St. Augustine said, “It is a mark of greatness to leave vengeance to God and meet insult with integrity.”

Let us pray, Jeremiah did good to others, yet they repaid his kindness with plots and slander. Still, he gives us a beautiful example: he turned
to the Lord. When we are slandered or when pits are dug in our path, may You, Lord, be our refuge and strength. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
