Word for Wednesday November 20. St. Edmond.

“A nobleman went into a far country to receive kingly power . . . Calling ten of his servants, he gave them ten pounds, and said to them, ‘Trade with these till I come” . . . When he returned . . . he commanded these servants . . . that he might know what they had gained by trading. The first came before him, saying, ‘Lord, your pound has made ten pounds more . . . the second came, saying, ‘Lord, your pound has made five pounds . . . Then another came, saying, ‘Lord, here is your pound, which I kept laid away in a
napkin; for I was afraid of you.” Luke 19:12-21. St. John XXIII said, “Consult not your fears, but your hopes and your dreams…Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do.”

Let us pray, Lord Jesus, we thank You for all the gifts, talents and endowments we have received from You. You shared them that we may make use of them in the best way we could. But sometimes fear prevents us from putting them to the best use. Lord, share with us Your Spirit of courage that we may put them all to use for Your glory and the glory of the universe in which You placed us. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
