Word for Wednesday October 1. St. Therese of the Child Jesus Virgin and Doctor of the Church.

“As Jesus and his disciples were proceeding on their journey, someone said to him, ‘I will follow you wherever you go.’ Jesus answered him ‘Foxes have dens and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to rest his head.’ And to another he said, ‘Follow me’. But he replied, ‘Let me go first and bury my father.’ But he answered him, “Let the dead bury their dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.’ Luke 9:57-60. St. Josemaria Escriva said, “Let me stress this point: it is in the simplicity of your ordinary work, in the monotonous details of each day, that you have to find the secret, which is hidden from so many, of something great and new: Love.”

Let us pray, Lord Jesus, you ask everything of us, but you are satisfied with the littlest bit. Our good will is enough, our humblest effort to serve is
rewarded. Through the intercession of St. Therese, may we learn to remain in the present moment, and to let grace sanctify us, even in the smallest most ordinary task at hand. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
