Word for Wednesday September 17. St. Hildegard of Bingen, Virgin, Doctor of the Church.

“Jesus said to the crowds….For John the Baptist came, neither eating food nor drinking wine, and you said ‘He is possessed by a demon’. The Son of Man came eating and drinking and you said, ‘Look, he is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is vindicated by all her children.” Luke 7:33-35. St. Hildegard of Bingen said, “Humanity, take a good look at yourself. Inside, you have heaven and earth, and all of creation. You are a world—everything is hidden in you.”

Let us pray, Lord Jesus forgive us the times we criticize others instead of lifting them up. At times we want to say whatever makes us look better. Lord you experienced the same, criticism by others so they could feel better about themselves. We ask for the grace to see the goodness in others and treat them as if that is all that we see. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
