“No one tears a piece from a new cloak to patch an old one . . . Likewise, no one pours new wine into old wineskins . . . Rather, new wine must be poured into fresh wineskins.” Luke 5:36-38. St. Jose Maria Escriva said, “The struggle is the sign of holiness. A saint is a sinner that keeps trying.” Let us pray, Holy Spirit, forgive us for all the patchwork and sinful compromises in our lives. Jesus preaches purity, newness, correctness and straightforwardness. Put a new spirit within us that whenever we fall from grace we may confess our sin to move on new and fully alive in spirit. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Matthew 5:16.
