“The wicked said…let us beset the just one, because he is
obnoxious to us; he sets himself against our doings…he styles himself a child of the Lord. To us
he is the censure of our thoughts, merely to see him is a hardship.” Wisdom 2:12-14. St. John
Climacus said, “To repent is not to look downwards at my own shortcomings, but upwards at
God’s love. It is not to look backwards with self-reproach but forward with trustfulness. It is to
see not what I have failed to be, but what by the grace of Christ I might yet become.” Let us
pray, Lord Jesus, even today these words have come true. Many find Your words hard to bear;
many cringe at the mention of Your name. Have mercy Lord, flood the land with Your Holy
Spirit, let us be inundated with the light of truth, bring us to repentance. Amen. “Let your light
shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
