“The company of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had everything in common. And with great power the apostles gave their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all. There was not any one needy among them, for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of what was sold and laid it at the apostles’ feet; and distribution was made to each as any had need.” Acts 4:32-35. Saint Basil the Great said, “The bread which you do not use is the bread of the hungry; the garment hanging in your wardrobe is the garment of him who is naked.”
Let us pray, Lord Jesus, the unity of heart and soul in the early Christian Community, where no one was in need, shows us a better way to live as brothers and sisters. In them, there was great power in witness and abundant grace upon all. Grant us that same grace, that we may live in true unity, share generously, and bear faithful witness to You in our lives. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
