Word for Thursday April 16. St. Bernadette Soubirous.

“In those days . . . the high priest questioned them saying, “We strictly charged you not to teach in this name . . . But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised Jesus whom you killed by hanging him on a tree. God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Saviour, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. And we are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him.” Acts 5:27-32. Saint John Vianney said, “There is nothing more powerful on earth than the Name of Jesus. One word of it confounds the devils and comforts the just.”

Let us pray, Lord Jesus, teach us to understand the mighty power in invoking Your Holy Name. May we always hold the Name of Jesus as our shield and strength, a Name capable of overcoming every enemy, every adversity, and every impossibility set against us. Grant that in times of trial, we may call upon Your Name with confidence, trusting in Your protection, Your mercy, and Your victorious power. May our hearts always revere and honor the Name of Jesus, for in it lies our hope, our courage, and our salvation. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
