Word for Saturday May 16. St. Ubaldus. “

Now a Jew named Apollos . . . was an eloquent man, well versed in the Scriptures. He had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught accurately the things concerning Jesus, though he knew only the baptism of John . . . Priscilla and Aquila . . . took him and expounded to him the way of God more accurately. And when he wished to cross to Achaia, the brethren encouraged him . . . when he arrived, he greatly helped those who through grace had believed.” Acts 18:24-27. St. John Chrysostom said, “Nothing is so pleasing to God as to help others in need.”

Let us pray, Loving Father, may we be useful in our lives, helping others as Apollos did, and as Priscilla and Aquila helped him to deepen his understanding of the Scriptures. May we also support our brothers and sisters along life’s journey, that we may all grow and become better. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
