“Paul asked ‘How were you baptized?’ They replied, ‘With the baptism of John’. Paul then said, ‘John baptized with a baptism of repentance, telling the people…to believe in Jesus.’ When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus…when Paul laid his hands on them, they received the Holy Spirit.” Acts 19:4-6. St. Ambrose said, “Enjoy the fragrance of eternal life, breathed on you by means of the sacraments.”
Let us pray, Lord Jesus, we see from the beginning, your Holy Spirit leading the Church, handing down the life of God, through the sacraments of baptism and confirmation.
