Word for Saturday January 29th. “Jesus was in the stern, asleep on a cushion. They woke him and said ‘Teacher do you not care that we are perishing?’ He woke up, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea ‘Quiet! Be still!’ The wind ceased and there was great calm…they said to one another ‘Who is this, whom even the wind and sea obey?” Mark 4:38-39, 41. St. Augustine said, “Lord, our God, we are in the shadow of your wings. Protect us and bear us up. You will care for us as if we were little children, even to our old age. When you are our strength, we are strong; but when we are our own strength we are weak. ? We now return to you, O Lord that we may never turn away again. Amen. Let us pray, Lord Jesus, all things are in Your care. Nothing happens that You do not allow. We pray to trust You at all times, to remember You are truly all loving and all powerful. Yes, the wind and sea obey You still, we have no need to fear. Amen.
