Word for Thursday March 9.

“Cursed is the man who trusts in human beings, who seeks his
strength in flesh, whose heart turns away from the Lord. He is like a barren bush in the desert,
that enjoys no change of season, but stands in a lava waste, a salt and empty earth.” Jeremiah
17:5-6. St. Augustine said, “The entire life of a good Christian is in fact an exercise of holy

desire. You do not yet see what you long for, but the very act of desiring prepares you, so that
when he comes you may see and be utterly satisfied.” Let us pray, O God, so often we seek
satisfaction in people and things, our hearts far from You, as if we can create happiness all on
our own. Really, we are blinded to our own poverty. Stay with us Lord, You are our joy and our
strength. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
