St. Peter Claver said, “Blessed are you who are poor, for the Kingdom of God is yours. Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you will be satisfied.
Blessed are you who are now weeping, for you will laugh…But woe to you who are rich, for you have received your consolation, woe to you who are filled now, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will grieve and weep.” Luke 6:20-21, 24-25. St. Ephrem said, “We have had your treasure within us, ever since we received baptismal grace, it grows ever richer at your sacramental table.”
Let us pray, Heavenly Father, help us when we are drawn to the world and its luxuries. We don’t want to trade everlasting treasure for the goods of this world. Help us to listen to our hearts that long for God and eternal joy. May these be our treasures and may we so live as to bring others into the kingdom of God. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed.
Larry.
