“In these days when the disciples were increasing in number, the Hellenists murmured against the Hebrews because their widows were neglected in
the daily distribution. And the Twelve summoned the body of the disciples and said, “It is not right that we should give up preaching the word of God to serve tables. Therefore, brethren, pick out from among you seven men of good repute. Full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint to this duty. But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” Acts 6:1-4. Saint Francis de Sales said, “Nothing is so strong as gentleness, nothing so gentle as real strength. Disputes are best settled with patience and dialogue, not with anger or force.”
Let us pray, Let us pray, Lord Jesus Christ, teach us the true meaning of dialogue and consensus in resolving community issues. Free us from harshness and pride, and help us, like You, to be gentle in addressing grievances. May we gather with You at the center, seeking solutions with
humility, wisdom, and love, so that our community may live in unity and peace. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
