Word for Thursday June 4. St. Francis Caracciolo.

“One of the scribes came to Jesus and asked him, ‘Which is the first of all the commandments?’ Jesus replied ‘The first is this: Hear O Israel! The Lord Our God is Lord alone! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:28-21. St. Henry Suso said, “Abandon yourself utterly for the love of God, and in this way, you will become truly happy.”

Let us pray, O God, grant us this grace, of loving you with all our being, all our strength. You have said this is the foundation; this is even our power. And from loving you, may we bear rich fruit, of loving and serving our neighbor. Holy Spirit, be our strength, be the vastness of God in our souls, generating love beyond measure. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
